1. Who We Are

Totowa Waterproofing operates the website at totowawaterproofing.com. We are an independent referral service based in Totowa, New Jersey. We are not a licensed waterproofing contractor. We do not perform waterproofing, foundation repair, or drainage work. What we do is connect homeowners in Passaic County with independent contractors who perform that work.

This policy explains what information we collect when you use this site or contact us, how we use it, and who we share it with.

2. Information You Give Us

When you submit our estimate request form, we collect the information you enter: your name, email address, phone number, property address, the service you are interested in, and any details you write in the message field.

When you call our phone number, we receive your phone number along with the date, time, and duration of the call. If you leave a voicemail or send us an email, we receive whatever you include in it.

You do not have to give us any of this. But we cannot refer you to a contractor without at least a name and a way to reach you.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, roughly where you are located (city level), what type of device and browser you use, and which site or search referred you. We use this in aggregate to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally.

You can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

• Contact you about your waterproofing request
• Pass your request to an independent contractor who can provide an estimate
• Follow up about the referral and whether it met your needs
• Keep records of the referrals we make
• Improve this website and understand which pages are useful

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, advertising networks, or mailing list companies.

5. Who We Share It With

The main thing to understand: the entire purpose of this service is to pass your request to an independent contractor. When you submit the form or call us, we may share your name, contact information, property address, and description of your problem with one or more independent waterproofing contractors so they can contact you about an estimate.

Those contractors are separate businesses. We do not control them, and once your information reaches them it is governed by their own privacy practices, not this policy. If you want to know how a specific contractor handles your data, ask them directly before you share more.

We also use these service providers, who process information on our behalf:

• Formspree — receives and delivers our website form submissions
• Twilio — provides our phone number and forwards calls to us
• Google Analytics — website usage measurement
• Netlify — hosts this website and keeps standard server logs

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or where we believe it is necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.

6. How We Get Paid

We want to be direct about this, because it affects how you should read anything on this site: we are compensated by the contractors we refer you to. That may be a fee for each referral, or a recurring fee for the relationship.

Our service is free to you as a homeowner. But you should know that a financial relationship exists, and you should evaluate any contractor on their own merits: verify their New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor registration, confirm their insurance, ask for references, and get more than one estimate before committing to work.

You can look up any New Jersey contractor's registration through the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.

7. Consent to Be Contacted

When you submit our form or call us, you are asking to be contacted. By submitting the form, you agree that we and the contractor we refer you to may contact you by phone, text message, or email at the contact details you provided, about your waterproofing request.

Standard message and data rates may apply to text messages. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling us on the phone, or emailing us at the address below. Consent to be contacted is not a condition of any purchase.

8. How Long We Keep It

We keep referral records for as long as we need them for the purposes described above, and to meet recordkeeping or legal obligations — generally no more than three years after your last contact with us. Website analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' own retention settings. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

9. Your Choices

You can email us at any time to:

• Ask what information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct it
• Ask us to delete it
• Tell us to stop contacting you

That said, no method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive identifiers — we never need them, and we will never ask for them.

11. Children

This site is intended for homeowners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email us and we will delete it.

12. Links to Other Sites

This site may link to other websites, including contractors' own sites and government resources. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their policies before sharing information with them.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
